All my recipes I’ve posted so far are easy to make and fail-proof. The recipe for this rice krispies squares is passed on to me by my aunt whose son loves this dessert. It appears similar to the chinese dessert “ang pao” but this is not red. When I made this, my mom loves it very much (well actually my mom loves everything I bake) but I wasn’t satisfied with how it turned out. I love my aunt’s version better. I wonder why the taste is different from my aunt’s….maybe the butter I used??? This dessert is a handy snack. Just put it in the ziploc and carry it with you or munch it around the house.
RICE KRISPIE SQUARES
Ingredients:
6 cups rice krispie
1/2 cup butter
26pcs big marshmallow
Procedure:
1. Melt butter in a large saucepan in low heat. Be careful that you don’t burn it. Add the marshmallow and stir constantly.
2. When the marshmallow becomes gooey, put the heat on low or turn it off and add the rice krispies. You don’t want to burn the marshmallow or make the rice krispies soft.
3. Mix the rice krispies well. When it is well-mixed, switch off the heat. Transfer the rice krispies on a rectangular dish. I used several dishes because I want my squares to be of adequate size. Condense the rice krispies well. Set aside to cool.
4. When the rice krispies has cooled, cut it into squares.
So this recipe doesn’t use the oven. It’s very simple, not messy and has a 99% success rate.
Enjoy cooking!
